This is a three-to-four month project role with responsibility for the development of VMIAC’s Membership Strategy. The project is critical to our strategic and operational priorities and is being initiated in the context of the Final Report of the Victorian Government’s Royal Commission into Mental Health. VMIAC seeks to support and ensure the depth and breadth of the consumer voice in response to the Royal Commission and to ensure we remain deeply connected to the views and experience of our members. The Project Lead will also be expected to make immediate improvements to VMIACs way of working with members and will have a close working relationship with the VMIAC Royal Commission Project Officer.
This is a lived experienced position: applicants must have a lived experience of mental health problems or emotional distress and of being a consumer of mental health services. Applicants must consider themselves to be work ready at a senior project level.
Flexible employment arrangements: this is an exciting developmental position that may be filled by direct appointment or secondment or other viable contractual arrangement. The position is 0.8 to full time and flexible work arrangements can be negotiated. The incumbent is eligible to apply for any ongoing role that becomes available. An attractive remuneration package applies.
You will enjoy working with different people and listening while having strong strategic thinking, organising and project management skills. You will be committed to making a difference to the experience of people who use the mental health service system and making the most of opportunity. You will be able to work independently as well as collegiately bringing kindness and respect to the workplace.
