About the role:

This role is responsible for the management of the Community Legal Centre Funding and Development Program, which has responsibility for the Community Legal Services Program (CLSP), and a small team of staff that help support CLCs meet their obligations under funding agreements.

In this role, you will build the capacity and effectiveness of the CLC sector through collaboration on capacity building activities, service planning and better targeting of funding. You will co-ordinate a range of State Government funding commitments and oversee the development of new funding arrangements.

In addition to this you will implement the reformed CLSP as well as developing and implementing new initiatives to improve the quality and effectiveness of the CLC sector.

This role is based in Melbourne. However, we will consider flexible work from other metropolitan and regional VLA offices.

About you:

You will have experience in liaising at a senior level within the government sector and working with community legal centres. You will also have the proven ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders to negotiate differing needs and expectations. You will have demonstrated experience in the management and development of funding programs as well as experience in preparing and monitoring data and financial reporting requirements in service agreements.

Crucial to your success in the role is your high-level communication skills to produce clear and well-researched advice and recommendations. You will also lead a small team in delivering high quality outcomes.
