About who we support

Vision Australia provides services to more than 25,500 people clients from 35 Vision Australia centres in Victoria, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia; and through outreach programs in the Northern Territory and Tasmania.

About the role

  • Build relationships with new and warm HNW prospects with the focus on developing your portfolio to consider new six and seven figure opportunities
  • Identify donors, clients, volunteers or stakeholders who may be interested in making a major gift
  • Based on your “discovery” meeting with donors and subsequent cultivation with them, strategically determine the most appropriate services and/or products for each proposal that you submit
  • Work closely with VA Board Members, CEO and other senior personnel to help gather the project information required and to present funding opportunities to the donors

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Three years minimum experience in presenting funding opportunities to philanthropic donors (and/or working with senior leaders to make the ask) at the six and/or seven figure major gift level
  • Tertiary qualification in fundraising, marketing or sales or equivalent industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and delivering successful donor relationship outcomes with highly committed key supporters in the major gift context
  • Thorough understanding of fundraising and major gift solicitation, together with highly developed personalised and remote stewardship principles
