The Senior Lecturer – Youth Work is a teaching and research position and will be required to implement appropriate pedagogies in the community programs area, by utilising high level skills and experience to engage students in this discipline. In addition, the Senior Lecturer – Youth Work will undertake Course Chair responsibilities within the Community Programs group, (Bachelor of Youth Work) for a period of up to 5 years. The position will support the College in providing a quality student experience in this teaching area, will supervise higher degree by research students, and engage in relevant research.
You will embrace the College agenda in the Community Programs area and make a significant contribution to teaching and research in the discipline of Youth Work. Having completed a doctoral degree (AQF10) in youth work or related area, you will bring high-level skills and experience in teaching and an appropriate record in research and program development. It is expected you will have experience in the Youth Work industry, as well as a good working knowledge of the community sector and the juvenile justice system. This will assist in building strong vocational degrees and ensure that you can construct, deliver and manage courses in the community programs group that deliver job ready graduates.
The work will be characterised by effective collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills, including a capacity to build relationships in working with colleagues, internal and external to the Community Programs group within the College of Arts and Education.
