The Operations Manager is a newly created senior leadership role at the Victorian Pride Centre (VPC) that will be responsible for overseeing the Pride Centre’s operational planning and delivery as it relates to our core functions as a centre for LGBTIQ+ people and organisations.

The VPC is a supportive landlord to a range of resident organisations; a venue for hire with state-of-the-art multipurpose spaces; and a programmer of events, exhibitions and LGBTIQ+ festival partnerships.

This is a new position that is focused on growing and professionalising the next phase of the organisation by managing and leading a small team to ensure a high-quality and seamless experience for all who work, hire, visit and engage with the centre. In addition, the role manages key contractual relationships ensuring the centre is managed and revenue targets exceeded.

PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES

  1. Proven (5+ years) high-level experience and understanding of venue or arts centre operational management
  2. Demonstrated skills and experience in delivering high quality outcomes in organisational and management including human resource management, policy, governance, and systems.
  3. Effectively tracks projects against budget, timelines and KPIs.
  4. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, and the ability to develop, influence, and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholder levels and across varying industries.
  5. Confidence, drive, and capability to represent the VPC to the public and external stakeholders when required.
  6. Strong financial acumen and demonstrated understanding of the role of operations in building and growing revenue streams.
  7. High standard of competency in MS Office, Xero, and other applications.
  8. Understanding of the not-for-profit sector, membership organisations, with ability to thrive in the fluid environment of an emerging NFP organisation.
