About us

New Futures Training is the registered training organisation (21203) of VICSEG New Futures. We are a not-for-profit, community organisation assisting people predominantly from newly arrived and recently settled migrant communities and refugee backgrounds to undertake vocational training.

For over 16 years New Futures Training has continued to provide accredited vocational training primarily in children’s services, health care, aged care, disability care, community services, short courses and more.

After recently adding 22510VIC Course in Identifying and Responding to Family Violence Risk onto our scope of registration, we are looking for an experienced trainer and practitioner to join our team to deliver this course to a variety of cohorts including: existing service workers, community sector managers, and CALD community leaders.

Course delivery

22510VIC Course in Identifying and Responding to Family Violence Risk.

This accredited course provides foundational knowledge required to identify the presenting risk of family violence. It focuses on how to ask about family violence and respond sensitively to a disclosure.

Participants will gain an understanding of the key aspects of identifying and screening for family violence including the evidence-based risk indicators in line with the MARAM framework.

Training will need to be delivered remotely via webinars as well as face to face sessions.

Face to face sessions will be conducted in small groups, following strict physical distancing and hygiene rules.

Casual Position

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

As a Family Violence Trainer and Assessor, you will be required to:

  • Deliver face-to-face as well as remote training, encompassing 22510VIC
  • Complete relevant administration in line with regulatory requirements
  • You will be need to facilitate application sessions using case studies, small group discussions and individual reflection to allow for multiple methods of learning, ensuring specific skills and competencies are met.
  • Provide performance feedback to community and corporate groups

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • This position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead small-moderate sized groups in an effective manner.
  • Sound computer literacy and proficiency in use of video conferencing and webinar related software.
  • The ideal candidate will be culturally sensitive, kind and patient.
  • Current Certificate IV TAE 40116 equivalent in training and assessment or higher.
  • Extensive industry experience in the Family Violence or Community Sector is required.
  • Expertise in working directly with victim/survivors of family violence or sexual assault.
  • Experience in undertaking risk assessment with victim/survivors of family violence.
  • Family violence case management expertise and/or crisis response experience (desired)
  • Expertise in the development, delivery and evaluation of training for adult learners (desired)
  • The ability to work flexible hours based on client needs is necessary.
  • Strong administration and organisational skills.
  • Must demonstrate industry and vocational currency through ongoing relevant professional development.
  • Must hold a current Working with Children Card – or be willing to obtain one prior to commencing.
