We are currently recruiting for a person to fill the new position of Manager, Policy.

This position is located within a small, cross-organisational Policy and Research Group responsible for maximising VicHealth’s value in the public policy process and evidenced based thought leadership.

The Manager, Policy is responsible for supporting a consistent and coordinated approach to strategic policy development and will be a key point for government stakeholder management and liaison across VicHealth’s five strategic imperatives.

The successful candidate will ensure successful partnerships, collaboration and engagement with stakeholders as well as the development of high-quality VicHealth policy positions.

In order to excel in this role, the successful candidate will exhibit industry leading relationship management skills as well as highly developed negotiation and communication skills.

Unit: Policy and Research Group
Tenure: Fixed term (Until June 30, 2021) Full Time
Classification: VicHealth Grade E
Remuneration: $122,004 pro rata (plus superannuation and other benefits)

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive industry experience in developing policy and/or informing policy development
  • Post graduate qualifications highly regarded
  • Experience working within the government sector including extensive experience in State government and with Ministers
  • Strong understanding of the public policy development process and mechanisms to inform and influence policy
  • Strong leadership and exceptional relationship management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong people management skills
