The Executive Communications Advisor reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and works in close partnership with the Social Marketing & Communications teams to deliver effective, strategic communications.

This role will contribute to furthering VicHealth’s voice and reach to a diverse Victoria, including a focus on younger people, families and Victorians facing greater barriers to achieving and maintaining good health.
In this new role, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering an internal communications strategy, as well as consistent, impactful messaging on behalf of our CEO.

We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude and a creative mindset, who is comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities in a fast-paced working environment.

  • Unit: CEO Office
  • Tenure: Full Time, Fixed Term (Until December 2021)
  • Classification: VicHealth Grade D
  • Remuneration: $87,802 (plus superannuation and other benefits)

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Degree in journalism, communications or public relations
  • Strong demonstrable experience working at a senior level as a public relations, journalism or communications professional
  • An industry leader in developing and maintaining integral stakeholder relationships
  • Demonstrated expertise writing media and communications materials including media releases, opinion pieces, social media posts, web copy, fact sheets, speeches, scripts and forewords
  • Social media experience including a detailed understanding of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter
  • Internal communications experience, and a collaborative team-based mindset
  • Experience developing, implementing, and adjusting content plans for multiple channels including social media, edm’s and media
  • Experience working within the communications, public health, community or government sectors with a strong understanding and passion for health promotion issues preferred
