About the role

As a Conciliator, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering a high-level dispute resolution service under the Victorian Equal Opportunity Act 2010 and Racial and Religious Tolerance Act 2001
  • Providing expert practical and impartial advice undertaking pre conciliation preparation of disputes and facilitate early dispute resolution where appropriate
  • Undertaking conciliation and facilitated negotiation of disputes using specialist knowledge and expertise to address complex problems, gathering relevant information and generate and test a range of solutions and outcomes
  • Completing post conciliation activities including preparing terms of settlement

About you

As a Conciliator, you will possess:

  • Knowledge of current practices, policies and legislation relevant to equal opportunity and human rights
  • An accreditation under the National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS) (desirable)
  • An ability to listen and acknowledge the concerns of others
  • Well developed excellence service skills

Keys to your success will be your highly developed communication and problem solving skills including the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
