Your next career opportunity

The Donor Care Coordinator is the first point of contact for Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute’s regular givers. The role focuses on the acquisition and retention of long-term donors to the Institute.

What we will trust you with

  • Responding to donor phone calls and emails including general enquiries, cancellations, donations, complaints, and refunds in a timely manner.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with donors to improve loyalty and donor retention.
  • Manage SMS and email communications such as declined donations, RTS follow-up and ensuring accurate donor information is updated.
  • Handle administrative duties associated with appeals, donor care, acquisition, and retention activities to assist with overall growth in fundraising income.
  • Working with the Fund Development team members to support continuous improvement in fundraising processes.
  • Providing exceptional customer service to donors and the public.

You are a motivated self-starter with a customer service background who would like to move into the not-for-profit sector. This is an opportunity to expand your horizons and learn how to run a Regular Giving fundraising program. You can work autonomously but also have some experience in team leadership. You want to grow your career and are committed to continued professional development.

We would like to meet you if you have:

  • Strong administrative and numerical skills with the ability to analyse data with an attention to detail, including CRM’s.
  • Demonstrated superior customer service skills; high degree of empathy and the ability to resolve conflict and objection handling in a professional manner.
  • Confidence in making phone calls to donors is a must, as donor retention is a key element to this role.
  • Ability to work within a team, but equally ready to take ownership over the role and all required tasks.
  • Proven highly developed organisational and time management skills.
  • Creative problem solver and can-do attitude toward finding solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Competent in the use of key desktop applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
