We’re a small but ambitious marketing team with a drive to deliver a seamless, consistent digital footprint to make a difference to kids in need. Working closely with the Head of Marketing and the Digital Marketing Manager this role is key to ensuring relevant and timely online communications and community management.

Each year, thousands of children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs, get support from Variety when they need it most. Our supporters provide the foundation which allows us to deliver grants, programs, scholarships and kids experiences to ensure no child slips through the gaps.

You will be responsible for

  • Take ownership of maintenance for the Variety website – ensuring timely updates and effective SEO to improve engagement
  • Community management across social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube)
  • Support the Digital Marketing Manager and Head of Marketing to deliver key marketing initiatives to raise awareness of and funds for Variety.
  • Deliver strategic and innovative email marketing campaigns – including our newsletter calendar and event promotions.
  • Utilise basic design skills to create on brand, eye capturing social media content
  • Increase brand awareness through innovative and strategic approaches to digital initiatives
  • Ensure marketing and communications content is consistent with the Australian Variety Brand Book
  • Ensure copy and content for websites, EDMs, digital advertising, and social media is optimised for Search

Ideally you will have

  • Sound knowledge of current digital marketing platforms, including social media, and an interest in up-and-coming platforms.
  • Co-ordinate a busy content calendar to ensure increased engagement from our audiences.
  • Develop and manage community engagement initiatives
  • Keep up-to-date and accurate donor records, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the database
  • High level of computer literacy (knowledge of funraisin, Raisers Edge, Active Campaign, Office 365, WordPress and Canva would be an advantage).
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or relevant equivalent work experience
  • A strong work ethic, trustworthy and reliable.
  • Passion for digital communication
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise work to deliver outstanding service to internal contact.
  • Highly motivated, with a willingness to cover all nature of tasks and do whatever needs doing.
  • Innovative, flexible and adaptable with an ability to thrive under pressure and enjoy new challenges.
  • Compassionate attitude and understanding of the needs of people in crisis.
  • Strong interest in how to benefit Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or living with special needs.
