Victoria Aboriginal Legal Service (VALS) is seeking a highly organised and community-minded Legal Secretary to join our Aboriginal Families Practice in Morwell.
This is an exciting opportunity to play an important support role in delivering culturally safe legal services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Victoria. Victoria Aboriginal Legal Service (VALS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) and the state's only specialist legal and support service dedicated to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Since 1973, we have provided culturally safe legal advice, representation and support across criminal, family, civil and human rights law, youth justice, and specialist litigation.
Our Aboriginal Families Practice delivers high-quality legal information, advice and assistance in family law, child protection and family violence matters, supporting stronger outcomes for community.
As Legal Secretary, you will provide high-quality secretarial, reception and office coordination support to the Aboriginal Families Practice. You'll be the first point of contact for many clients and stakeholders, helping to create a professional, welcoming and culturally safe environment while supporting the legal team with day-to-day administrative tasks.
This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organised, and confident managing multiple priorities, with a genuine commitment to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
