About the opportunity

The Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Workforce & Sector Coordinator is responsible for working closely with Aboriginal workforces (mental health, SEWB, Alcohol and other Drugs, Bringing the Home, Link Up Victorian and stolen generations) within Victoria to enhance their professional development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct a training needs analysis with the Victorian SEWB workforce.
  • Contribute to and provide Aboriginal Cultural advice on social and emotional wellbeing including mental health and AoD policy, strategy development and implementation of policy initiatives.
  • Provide culturally safe and inclusive professional networking opportunities including statewide gatherings and regional forums.
  • Provide support to the Executive Manager with advice to the Prime Minister & Cabinet (PM&C) on SEWB workforce issues related to the development of wellbeing services for Aboriginal people.

About you

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to Victorian Aboriginal health, Aboriginal culture, and the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Control.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage sensitive information, maintain confidentiality and remain impartial at all times.
  • A flexible approach, with strong organisational and planning skills, including the ability to effectively manage time and workload, prioritise tasks, and meet changing circumstances, competing demands, interruptions, and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience using Microsoft applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project Management) combined with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
