VACCHO is the peak representative body for the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people in Victoria and champions community control and health equality for Aboriginal communities. We are a centre of expertise, policy advice, training, innovation and leadership in Aboriginal health and wellbeing. VACCHO advocates for the health equality and optimum health of all Aboriginal people in Victoria.

VACCHO is seeking a Strategic Project Manager (Information Technology) to join our new Health Information and Technology Unit.

This position will be primarily responsible for project management effort to progress the design and delivery of 1)VACCHO’s Relationship Management System (RMS) and 2)a Client/Case Management System (CMS) with and for our Member Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCO’s).

The position will work closely with IT vendors, across VACCHO Units and with Members to progress these strategic projects to support VACCHO’s system enhancements and integrations.

As the Strategic Projects Manager, you will be leading the development of high-quality project briefs, reports, contributing to change management plans and fostering positive relationships and partnerships with VACCHO employees, Members, and other key stakeholders.

To be successful in this role:

  • Proven experience of working alongside, coaching and training staff to improve uptake of business systems and embed learning practices as part of continuous improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, including the ability to effectively manage time and workload
  • Proven experience and background in project management, in particular IT system design projects
  • Proven experience in managing and implementing change management plans as part of project delivery
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to Victorian Aboriginal health, Aboriginal culture, and the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Control
  • High level of computer skills, particularly MS Office Suite of products, including MS Project, combined with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Diploma of Project Management and/or Postgraduate qualifications in Project Management or Business Management or other areas
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior project management role
