Ngarra Jarra Noun is funded by the Federal government to provide assistance and support to survivors of institutional child sexual abuse going through the journey of seeking redress through the National Redress Scheme. As a Support worker, you will be part of a small team responding to the needs of Aboriginal people who are considering applying for redress. You will also be involved in a number of activities aimed at enabling Aboriginal people who were subject to sexual abuse in their childhood to consider and, apply for redress in a culturally safe manner that respects individuals' experience and provides the required level of support. These activities will include:
You will be required to have close communication with the National Redress Scheme and provide advice regarding the needs of Aboriginal Victorians throughout this process. You will also work collaboratively with other VACCA services and our sector partners in delivering a complete support service to clients of the Redress Support Service.
