Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia, employing more than 600 employees and delivering more than 70 programs across Victoria. VACCA Statewide Services deliver a range of service programs for the Aboriginal community across Victoria. Our programs cover the spectrum of community services but uniquely work together in an integrated way to bring the best outcomes for the Aboriginal community. Our services work towards self-determination and healing of the Aboriginal community by embedding culture and strengthening the safety and well-being of vulnerable community members, particularly children.
This position is responsible for leadership, coordination of the cultural planning program and the provision of support Senior Advisors- Aboriginal Cultural Planning across VACCA and all other ACCO’s.
The role supports the advisors in the development, endorsement, implementation and review of cultural plans for vulnerable Aboriginal children and young people living in out-of-home care. You will provide leadership and advocacy to ensure the protection and promotion of the cultural rights of Aboriginal children, young people and their families
