About the role

The Senior Project Officer will work closely with a highly competent, engaged, and professional team of family violence project officers.

Key components of this role are:

  • Raising the profile of family violence responsibilities across the organisation
  • Supporting the organisation to advocate for Aboriginal community within the broader family violence sector
  • Supporting the team to deliver critical projects which shape the way family violence is embedded across all programs
  • Supporting best practice across our suite of family violence programs

About You

  • Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose and the capacity to take a leadership role in championing these internally and externally
  • Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities
  • Substantial and relevant experience working across Family Violence and Child and Family Welfare Services with Aboriginal communities.
  • Deep understanding of family violence in and Aboriginal context and demonstrated knowledge of current reforms in the sector
  • Strong skills in facilitating group discussions on family violence best practice through a cultural lens
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent written materials with a high level of attention to detail and the capacity to deeply analyse reports and data
  • Strong organisational abilities and interpersonal and communication skills.
