  • Salary: $97,377 - $101,787 plus superannuation and salary package

About the role

The Early Parenting Practitioner will provide an outreach support service to parents in the Eastern Metropolitan region who are experiencing parenting challenges for this age group (0-4 years).

In addition, the Practitioner will support women in their late stages of pregnancy around preparing for their new baby and their general wellbeing. The role will be responsible for providing parenting skills development and education to families through an outreach / home visiting model.

About You

  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose. 
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Development, Infant Mental Health, Maternal and Child Health Nursing, Social Work, Community Services or equivalent, at diploma level or higher.
  • Qualifications in Family Violence and MARAM training
  • Demonstrated experience in working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children and communities in the child and family sector. 
  • Well-developed knowledge and expertise in developmental milestone, particularly around age stage development in children.  Proven experience in parenting education and ability to offer practical strategies and supports to families. 
  • Demonstrated experience or transferrable knowledge in delivering intensive and specialist outreach case management support to families. 
  • Requirements: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
