Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Member Rights Officers to resolve individual and collective issues effectively
  • Supervise, manage and allocate workload within the team
  • Mentor and motivate staff to positively influence team culture and promote a positive, professional work environment
  • Ensure the work of the team assists to retain union members, encourage new members to join, and increase member participation in their union
  • Maintain and develop the industrial knowledge and standards within the team
  • Other duties associated with ensuring a high standard is maintained to provide assistance to Union members

Key Selection Criteria

The Lead Member Rights Team demonstrates:

  • Experience in leading a team
  • Ability in using legislation, awards and agreements to enforce members’ rights and entitlements
  • A solid knowledge and understanding of the Australian industrial relations environment
  • A strong commitment to the union movement
  • Willingness to ‘roll up your sleeves’ and actively perform operational duties
  • Strong time management, organisational and prioritising skills
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills

Remuneration

An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful applicant, which will include:

  • Salary commensurate with demonstrated skills and experience
  • 16% superannuation
  • 6 weeks annual leave with 25% leave loading
