Due to new funding from the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing we are seeking a Financial Counsellor to work specifically with bushfire affected communities to support older people experiencing or at risk of Elder Abuse.

In this exciting new role, you will provide financial counselling services to eligible clients as well as secondary consultations to relevant service providers to address elder abuse. To be successful in this role you will need solid financial counselling skills, an understanding of the issue of elder abuse and the ability to successfully engage with community members who may be reluctant to seek supports.

This position is a fixed-term 12-month contract and will be based in Wodonga or Wangaratta with outreach to the Towong and Alpine shires.

For this role, you will need to have:

A Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling) or equivalent, and current membership (or hold eligibility for membership) of a relevant Financial Counsellors Association.
