About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to kick start a rewarding career in the Community Services Sector. If you are interested in gaining your Certificate IV in Community Services while learning to be an Advocate working with people with disabilities, then please Read on!

Working alongside the Advocacy team you will receive on the job training in relation to all aspects of advocacy relating to people with disabilities. Whilst you will be based at Aberdeen Street, Perth, the role will involve some travel across the metro area.

Aboriginality is considered a genuine occupational qualification for this role under Section 50D Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA). To apply you must identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

This is a full-time 12-month traineeship with the possibility of an ongoing role upon successful completion of all requirements of the traineeship.

About You

To be considered for this traineeship we are looking for someone who:

  • Possesses strength in their communication skills both verbal and written. You must be confident to speak on behalf of people with disabilities
  • Demonstrates proven organisational and time management skills
  • Has an open mind and a respectful approach to working with vulnerable people

You will also have:

  • Completed year 12 or equivalent and received a Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE)
  • Willingness to engage in further studies in order to attain a Certificate IV in Community Services
  • A current National Police Clearance
