The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Youth Worker with relevant qualifications and experience to join a dedicated and supportive team. The Youth Worker (Shift Work) will be responsible for assisting young people who are homeless to develop independent capacity and support young people to successfully transition into independent living in the community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work in partnership with young people from a client focussed and strengths based practice
  • Plan, implement and review case work in partnership with the individual young person including intake and assessment procedure and linkages and referrals to other agencies
  • Maintaining up to date and relevant knowledge relating to client service delivery
  • Raise awareness of the accommodation needs of young people within the community
  • Advocate on behalf of and maintain the rights of young people

The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Community Service, Social Worker, or equilivant, or relevant and extensive community work experience and training.

We are seeking a dynamic individual who has demonstrated experience working in partnership with young people from diverse backgrounds, lifestyles and interests and experience in planning and executing group activities for young people.
