Senior Youth Worker

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Youth Worker to assist young people who are homeless, develop independent capacity and successfully transition into independent living in the community. The successful individual with work within the 24-hour staffed supported accommodation setting and will support the team to provide effective provision of the service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan, implement and review casework in partnership with the individual including intake and assessment, case file management, and linkages and referrals to other agencies.
  • Work in partnership with young people from a client focussed and strength-based practice.
  • Assist young people to develop confidence and increase their self-esteem and motivation.
  • Respond to actions and requests in a professional manner.
  • Work collaboratively to foster effective communication with key staff and other programs/agencies to achieve client and program expectations and objectives.

The successful candidate will have Tertiary qualifications in Community Services, Social Work or equivalent, and extensive community work experience and training. You'll be supported and respected by an experienced team of people who share your passion, dedication and resilience.
