UnitingSA is a large non-government organisation providing support services in multiple locations across metropolitan and regional SA. With a clear mission to enable and empower all people to participate and flourish, we have been supporting people experiencing social and economic disadvantage for almost 100 years. Our Community Services conduct support programs in the areas of:

  • Homelessness
  • Mental Health
  • NDIS
  • Child, youth and family support
  • Employment support including Wesley Social Enterprises

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Executive Manager - Community Services is responsible for external partnerships and building synergies, and connections across the organisation to ensure high quality, responsive and sustainable community services. This pivotal role reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is a member of the Executive Management Team. The role requires a passionate and enthusiastic individual with high-level leadership skills to design and deliver customer orientated services and supports in community services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and deliver innovative customer oriented services and support in community services
  • Lead and manage the Community Services Managers to plan, deliver and review service operations
  • Build productive relationships and partnerships to maximise customer and organisational sustainability
  • Explore opportunities for further growth of the organisation in line with strategic directions
  • Ensure effective resource allocation and delivery of annual budgets, service plans and reports to ensure organisational objectives are met
  • Contribute to the overall organisation to pursue collaborative outcomes in conjunction with the CEO and Executive team

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • A proven track record in leading large teams to deliver defined outcomes and instituting change management programs
  • Degree qualification in social work, social sciences, business administration, human services management or other relevant field
  • A minimum of 3-5 years senior management experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the not-for-profit sector and its environment
  • Significant experience in the management of finances and high level knowledge of the human services sector,  in particular issues relating to community welfare and employment
  • Understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme
