The Opportunity

The Cook is responsible for ensuring that the residents are provided with meals that meet their individual preferences as per the menu. Working in collaboration with the Chef Manager at our Hawksbury Gardens Aged Care Facility, you will ensure that all food preparation and servicing meets the food safety standards and requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participate in menu planning with Chef Manager and clients/residents including special events.
  • Ensure that menus are planned in consultation with residents, which meets their dietary requirements, individual preferences and cultural needs.
  • Ensure that effective purchasing, quality and cost control processes are in place for the procurement of all food products.
  • Ensure that food services are delivered in accordance with resident choices.
  • Communicate in a professional manner with residents, families, other staff and visitors at all times

The successful candidate will have a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent, as well as experience in the preparation and delivery of meals in a similar environment.

We are seeking a dynamic individual who has strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a flexible and hardworking team.

You will also have a current National Police Check and a current Influenza Vaccine, or be willing to obtain one.
