About the role

As the Service Manager for Women and Families, you will be responsible for the overall running of Uniting’s three Crisis and Transitional Accommodation Services located across the Parramatta and Cumberland LGA. These services are for women alone as well as women and children escaping domestic and family violence or who are homeless.

You will provide direction, leadership, and support to each service and, through team collaboration, ensures consistent, best practice processes and quality service-based delivery. Leadership skills, business acumen and positive "can do" outlook is the core of our Service Manager.

This position is a full time permanent opportunity with flexibility to WFH and be based across various locations. 

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent years in experience in a similar role               
  • Demonstrated commitment to feminist principles
  • A developed understanding of current issues in women’s homelessness, including current practices in the NSW context of responses to domestic and family violence
  • Demonstrated experience in working with clients from culturally diverse backgrounds including using telephone interpreting services
  • A sound and developed understanding of the principles of case-management, trauma-informed care and client-centric approaches 
  • Demonstrated and recent experience in managing staff, including professional development and supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to work constructively and collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders
  • An understanding of access, equity, diversity and Work Health and Safety principles and the ability to deliver a non-judgemental and supportive service to clients
  • Ability to attend to on-call matters and supporter events out of normal office hours
  • Your excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, particularly related to leadership and advocacy, will be a valuable addition across the positive team environments
  • You will be required to have a current drivers license, Working With Children Clearance and a National Police Check
