As a Practice Lead with the Children, Youth and Families (CYF) Directorate you are responsible for leading high quality and consistent practice approaches both in an area of specialisation and more broadly across the CYF Directorate. This area of specialisation will predominantly involve the CYF Youth and Homelessness focused programs. The Practice Lead role is responsible for leading program design, developing and implementing practice models and driving change initiatives to best meet the needs of CYF client groups. You will actively support an organisational culture that seeks opportunities to improve and proactively identifies potential barriers to achieving outcomes. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to find creative and sustainable solutions to problems and contribute to systems improvements for your area of specialisation and the CYF Directorate. You will be skilled at navigating the organisation and able to work proactively across business functions

This is a full-time permanent position, location to be negotiated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with operational representatives, relevant business and shared services functions to lead practice improvement.
  • Identify, develop and implement practice related Policy and Procedure for CYF as required.
  • Collaborate across CYF on practice improvements and changes required in response to complaints, incidents, audits and research findings.
  • Contribute to the clinical governance of CYF and support regulatory compliance requirements, reporting and monitoring.
  • Partner and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including the Quality Improvement Specialist team to define, deliver and monitor the implementation of CYF practice priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Research and Social Policy team on projects.
  • Maintain professional knowledge of internal and external service models and models of best practice relevant to CYF and cultivate professional networks that can support ongoing professional development.
  • Participate in CYF tender applications, specifically in the development of practice models and service design.
  • Lead on the development and implementation of person centred and contemporary practice models and initiatives.
  • Identify training needs and professional development requirements.
  • Drive a culture of continuous quality improvement and professional learning focused on client outcomes.
  • Identify, develop and document practice standards, frameworks, models and approaches.

About You

You will be continuing to develop in your area of expertise and be expected to provide innovative ideas to solve problems in your discipline.  It is expected that you will possess good skills at navigating a complex organisation, forging relationships, and managing through influence rather than direct authority as required. You will have at least 10 years’ experience in delivering programs/services within your area/s of specialisation.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic and collaborative working relationships across business and shared services functions
  • Demonstrated ability to translate research to practice
  • Demonstrated ability to develop systems and processes that enable quality service delivery
