Uniting is seeking a passionate and experienced Aboriginal leader to join our Family Connect and Support (FCS) program as a First Nations Coordinator. This is an exciting leadership opportunity to support children, young people and families experiencing vulnerability, while leading a culturally safe and responsive team across Western and Far-Western NSW.
Our goal is to build a strong, connected and capable team that supports community with confidence, care and cultural integrity.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity (35 hours per week) with travel required across the region.
The Family Connect and Support (FCS) program is a whole-of-family early intervention service supporting children, young people and families who are experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, vulnerability. The program works with families whose needs fall below the threshold for statutory child protection intervention, helping prevent escalation and strengthen family wellbeing.
As the First Nations Coordinator, you will lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the FCS program, ensuring services are delivered safely, effectively and in line with funding, performance and community expectations.
You will provide leadership, supervision and support to a team of Family Worker Specialists while overseeing referrals, assessments, allocation and case management processes. The role requires strong cultural leadership, sound risk assessment capability and the ability to build collaborative relationships across community and service systems.
This is an identified position for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Applicants must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
At Uniting, you will be part of a culturally safe and supportive team that honours Aboriginal ways of being, knowing and doing.
