Uniting is a provider for the NSW arm of the National Debt Helpline, a free financial counselling telephone service, available to the whole of Australia via the number 1800 007 007. We are looking to recruit additional full time and part-time financial counsellors to work on the NDH up until at least 31/12/2020.
With the increased demand expected from those effected by the bushfires, additional resources have been provided to expand our team for 12 months to deliver a dedicated bushfire support service as part of the NDH. We expect financial hardship to increase exponentially over the next 12 months and for there to be significantly higher demand on over the phone financial counselling services particularly from regional areas. Successful applicants will provide telephone based financial counselling support relating to hardship experienced as a result of the bushfires with some case management to callers who require more extensive support and are unable to access face-to face-financial counselling due to geographical isolation or lack of services.
Ideally we would like the roles to be base from our Dubbo office however financial counsellors can work from an existing Uniting office closest to them across NSW taking calls and maintaining contact with the NDH call centre via phone and email.
