About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Childhood Teacher to become a part of our collegiate and supportive team at Mayflower Preschool. Educating preschool age children, you will bring a passion for developing, planning and implementing an innovative educational program with a commitment to inclusive early childhood practice and social justice. This role is working part time Wed - Fri on a closed period contract until December 2021.

Mayflower Preschool in Jannali is a not-for-profit, community-based facility providing education and care for 3-5 year old’s in the Sutherland Shire. Our service is approved for 29 children each day and is deeply committed to inclusivity and equal access for all. Our warm and welcoming service operates during school terms and offers stimulating indoor and natural outdoor environments.

What do I need to succeed? 

  • Bachelor Teaching / Early Childhood Education
  • Minimum 12 months experience working as an ECT in a Room Leader role
  • Sound understanding and commitment to Early Childhood practice that is informed by the EYLF, the NQF, Workplace Health and Safety and the Education and Care Services National Regulations.
  • Proven experience in delivering an inclusive EC program supporting participation of children with different abilities and from varied backgrounds
  • Current WWCC
  • Current first aid certificate including Asthma and Anaphylaxis (HLTAID004)
  • Child Protection qualification and knowledge of NSW Child protection legislation
  • Strong computer literacy skills
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
