About the opportunity:

Uniting are seeking a full time District Support Officer (DSO) to be based at our Pymble office and be responsible for administrative support to the Local Area Coordinators (LACs) within the North Sydney district. You will work in a small team of DSOs and in conjunction with the Senior District Support Officer, mentor the team towards reaching their overall objectives.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • You will facilitate and coordinate accurate information flow from the District, as well as Uniting and National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA)
  • You will support the LACs to stay mobile and connected to their local community, e.g. support with IT issues and monitoring the flow of IT equipment, including maintaining various registers
  • You will assist with the preparation of NDIA and community engagement events, including preparing promotional packs and training materials.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years administrative experience, including development and implementation of office systems and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to establish and build partnerships and achieve common desired outcomes with a wide range of complex or strategically different stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of all Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of relevant sector standards, policy, direction and changes, including the National Disability Insurance Scheme
  • Sound knowledge of the complex needs of people with disability and their families along with effective service models
  • Certificate/Diploma in Business Administration is advantageous
