About the Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity for a highly Experienced Early Learning Centre Director to join the Uniting Early Learning team as the head of a brand-new, purpose built service in Westmead!

You’ll initially be working with Senior Management to fit out and plan the new centre, recruit and build your team and, through time, you’ll grow the centre as a respected and relied upon service in the Westmead community and broader Uniting organisation.

About You

You will be proactive and approachable, a genuine people person and self-starter with a true passion for developing strong relationships with your team, families and children. Delivering excellence in your practice and embedding a strong commitment in the development of quality early educational programs across early childhood education.

You will acknowledge and value professionalism in others and support ongoing learning. You will be a confident leader who is able to balance the day-to-day needs of our new services and our staff, children, families and community.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Manage the day to day operations of the Centre in line with legislative requirements, company policies and procedures
  • Provide leadership and guidance to all staff
  • Ensure that high quality early learning programs are delivered by a passionate team of Educators
  • Manage staffing rosters efficiently  
  • Effectively manage the financial requirements of the centre in line with budget guidelines  
  • Deliver consistent high-quality standards for centre presentation and work practices
  •  Build and maintain strong relationships with educators, families, children and the local business community

Must haves

  • Hold an Early Childhood Teachers (ECT) degree –with current registration with NESSA
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Director
  • A high-level understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Standards (NQS) and Quality Improvement Plans (QIP)
  • A current Working with Children’s Check and First Aid Certificates 
  • Excellent communication skills and management of budgets, rosters and policies
