About the Opportunity

Uniting Frederick Street Preschool is currently seeking an Educator to join our team in Rockdale. You will be required to support the service in the provision of high quality care and education for children. Responsibilities include communication with families, translating when necessary, contribution to educational programs, facilitation of play based learning and maintaining appropriate workplace health and safety.

Every child is actively and consistently supported to engage in the programs we offer with supported inclusion of children with additional needs. We are excited to welcome a new CALD Educator to become a part of our unique team to support children from linguistically diverse backgrounds including; Bengali, Nepalese, Mongolian, Indian.

Successful applicants will require:

• Diploma in Children Services OR Certificate III in Children’s Services (minimum)
• Demonstrated experience in working with children and families with a CALD background.
• Current First Aid, approved Asthma, Anaphylaxis Certificates and Child Protection Training.
• Demonstrated knowledge and / or experience in implementing a quality program in an education and care setting.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated understanding of diversity and inclusive practice.
