About the opportunity

This role is mostly mobile working with children/families at the Spring Farm Public School and on Saturdays you will be required to work at the Spring Farm Community Centre in Camden. This is a 2 day a week contract until the 31st of December 2020, hours and specific days can be negotiated based on availability. 

The role is responsible for supporting the development of Uniting’s Future Horizons ‘Whole of Community’ strategy in Spring Farm & surrounds. The key focus is supporting the community engagement coordinator in building a change agenda with the community to improve the lives of children and their families. 

About you in this role 

  • Excellent community engagement skills
  • Appreciative and respectful of diverse cultures and points of view
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and conflict resolution skills
  • A current drivers’ licence and valid Working With Children’s Check
  • A demonstrated passion for social change and contributing to an organisation of influence for the most disadvantaged
  • Skilled at navigating a complex organisation, forging relationships, and managing through influence rather than direct authority as required
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard work hours when required
  • Strong, trusted connections within the community of focus
