About the role

This role is responsible for contributing to the development of the strategy of the Directorate, in addition to organising the planning, budgeting and reporting of activities within the Management Accounting team.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively drive accountability operating efficiencies and key commercial decisions by providing financial leadership and support, partnering with Directors and Heads of to execute strategic plans and financial plans
  • Support the development and review of assumptions for business planning and budgeting to ensure the function maximises its value creation for your portfolio
  • Responsible for the delivery of the month end report, producing high quality output for the Board / Executive
  • Support the review of business opportunities for revenue/margin maximisation and cost optimisation/reduction to achieve optimal and sustainable outcomes
  • Responsible for developing reporting that enables benchmarking of key metrics to industry, macro trends and our strategic plans
  • Evaluate business level key risks and opportunities, and drive positive outcomes
  • Responsible for assisting with financials for business case requests and growth initiatives
  • Assist with the review and assessment of business/asset acquisition opportunities, including Due Diligence
  • Responsible for challenging current processes and ways we work to drive greater control, efficiency, accuracy, and simplification
  • Effectively build the capability of the team by planning, monitoring and providing ongoing coaching, development and support to the team
  • Regularly share knowledge and insights with the team and lead execution of team objectives. 

Experience:

  • 10+ years’ post graduate experience with a proven track record within the Retirement Living and Housing sector, in a commercial finance or analytical role
  • You will be comfortable working at both an operational and strategic level with experience in development and supporting business plans
  • You will have a strong technical accounting background supported by your commercial influencing and business partnering ability and build strategic relationships to influence across the senior leadership team
  • Flexibility and adaptability are a must, you will be required to work well under pressure with multiple competing deadlines and changing challenges
  • Exceptional communicator with collaborative style, with strong Influencing and negotiating skills especially across cross-functional teams
  • Strong commercial acumen and track record in adding value to a business
  • Strong reporting writing skills (present concisely)
  • Advanced excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Experience using Adaptive Insights
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Experience in large complex organisations under-going change.
