About the opportunity

Uniting seeks Care Workers to work at Uniting Lindsay Gardens in Hamilton on a part time permanent basis, to work collaboratively as a care team to enhance the residents’ well-being including their physical, psychological, social, and spiritual qualities. Our personal carers make sure they facilitate self-determination, capacity, and resilience, as well as improve social engagement and quality of life for the resident. 

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Providing a wide range of personal care services to residents
  • Supervising daily hygiene – showers or baths, shaving, cutting nails; layout clothes and assisting in dressing; making beds and tidy rooms; store clothes and clean wardrobes
  • Assisting and supporting residents with medication utilising medication compliance aids; simple wound dressing, etc.
  • Assisting with meals and feeding
  • Recognising, reporting, and responding appropriately to changes in the condition of residents.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III or IV in Aged Care or equivalent qualification
  • Flu and Covid Vaccination

Skills & experience

  • A good insight into the health, social, or aged care services industries
  • Previous experience in aged or community care is welcomed
  • Great communication and customer service skills and the ability to get along easily with others
  • Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and risk management practices
