About the Role

The MHiPS Learning Leader will be part of the Teaching and Learning Team and responsible for content delivery, learning coordination and support for a group of Mental Health and Wellbeing Leaders (MHWLs) and their schools participating in the Mental Health in Primary Schools Project (MHiPS). The Learning Leader will guide and support each MHWL on their learning pathway including assisting with individual development plans, facilitating specific learning content through the MHiPS Training Program delivered throughout the year.

The Learning Leader will have a diverse group of MHWLs to work with and therefore must have exceptional organisation skills and able to work collaboratively with the broader MHiPS Team, schools and Department of Education Regional Mental Health Branches. The Learning Leader will have experience in learning support roles, content knowledge/experience of mental health and wellbeing strategies and approaches for schools, excellent communication skills and be able to develop and sustain relationships with their MHWL group and other project stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting each Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader on their learning pathway in the MHiPS program
  • Delivering core training modules via seminars and workshops
  • Scheduling and facilitating Communities of Practice (CoPs), including facilitating a regular check-in with MHWLs

Who We Are Looking For

You should possess knowledge and hands-on experience with evidence-based strategies aimed at supporting the mental wellbeing of primary school students, ideally within a classroom setting. Excellent communication and facilitation skills are essential; you'll be regularly presenting and facilitating learning sessions for your MHWL group, both in person and on platforms like Zoom. Superior organisational and time management skills are crucial for success in this role. Additionally, the ability to cultivate and maintain multiple relationships, both with individuals and within a group, is key.

You will also have:

  • A tertiary qualification in an appropriate field (education, wellbeing, psychology, social work or other Allied Health). 
  • An ability to work as part of a delivery team.
  • Demonstrated capacity to earn and acquire new digital skills and get the best out of existing software.

This position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone.
