We need your help to tell this incredible story. UNICEF Australia is looking for a savvy content producer who knows what people in Australia want to read and can write a story they will remember. We need someone who can flip tired narratives and connect people with the experiences of children from Australia, our regional neighbours and around the world.

As a Content Producer, you will create content, from short emails to extensive blogs that make new audiences excited about children’s rights and show our supporters how they are making an impact. You will translate complex global issues into accessible and compelling language for audiences in Australia. And you’ll write confidently, with integrity, and make children’s rights a part of every conversation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and produce engaging content for publication across a variety of offline and online channels
  • Lead content and development of our supporter facing magazine and newsletters
  • Support the partnerships and fundraising teams with donor-centric copywriting, email journeys and reports
  • Support with photography and videography of key events, followed by editing and production of that content for our supporters
  • Prepare content and briefs for influencers, corporate donors and partners
  • Tailor content to specific audiences and channels in line with organisational objectives
  • Development and optimisation of the content calendar and scheduling of content
  • Results driven, self-motivated and can work as part of a highly collaborative team
  • Collaborate with the brand and campaigns team in implementing the content strategy and evaluating content performance
  • Will tell children’s stories honestly, ethically and in their own voices

Selection Criteria

  1. Appropriate tertiary qualification in communications, marketing or other relevant area of study, or equivalent working experience.
  2. A minimum of 3 years’ experience developing content for communications and marketing pieces with specific fundraising, brand engagement and advocacy calls to action.
  3. An expert in copywriting, you have the ability to write and pitch editorial and other content ideas, and provide rationale grounded in propensity to directly support organisational objectives.
  4. Demonstrated ability to identify, collect and curate content to support storytelling including regular photography and videography tasks.
  5. Strong knowledge and skills with Adobe Creative Suite (inc. Adobe Premiere) to develop strong content and brand materials to use both offline and online. Graphic design experience a plus.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of human rights, international development and world affairs.
  7. An eye for design and excellent attention to detail, preferably with demonstrable experience working with a content management system (eg Kentico).
  8. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate in a small, fast paced team.

Additional desirable experience

  1. Experience developing marketing and communications content that supports each stage in the fundraising lifecycle: awareness, acquisition, on-boarding, conversion, engagement and re-engagement.
  2. Experience in the not-for-profit sector.
  3. Graphic design experience.
  4. Experience writing copy for SEO objectives.
  5. Understanding of ACFID and fundraising code of conduct
