Program Facilitator

Hotham Mission requires a casual Program Facilitator for a new Girls' Night youth program in Melbourne Inner-North area.

Hotham Mission is a faith-based community organisation providing community support for disadvantaged people in Melbourne's Inner-North area, with a particular focus on young people and supporting their continued education. Hotham Mission delivers support in close partnership with various community organisations, local service providers and schools.

Hotham Mission welcomes applicants from all backgrounds who are willing to contribute their knowledge, expertise, skills, time and energy to support the programs, we are committed to non-discrimination in recruiting volunteers. As program participants may be from a CALD background, those from a CALD background are strongly encouraged to apply.

As a new program, the successful applicant will be responsible for program planning and co-design with the collaboration of those who attend.

You will be responsible for the young women in attendance, promoting a safe space for their active participation, scheduling and planning activities, promoting the program and working with other stakeholders and staff. As the Program Facilitator you will also be responsible for supervising a small number of paid staff and volunteers.

This is scheduled to be a face-to-face program.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • You have the relevant experience and qualifications.
  • Promotion of the education support programs and recruitment of new participants
  • The ability to work colligatively with multiple stakeholders
  • Recruitment, management and support of volunteers and staff (includes induction of new volunteers)
  • Keeping records of attendance, tutorial sessions and monitoring program progress over time
  • Conduct an annual survey and program assessment
  • Conduct exit surveys with volunteers when they leave
  • Liaising with families and guardians of program participants
  • Participating in various local youth networks as required
