Case Manager - Outreach

We are currently seeking an Outreach Domestic and Family Violence Case Worker to join our UnitingCare team on a Full Time basis (Monday-Friday).

The Role:

The role provides outreach based, specialised case management support to women and children who are escaping domestic and family violence who require support with safety planning, undertaking risk assessments, provision of court support (DV and Family Law), provision of information and education in relation to domestic and family violence and its impacts. This position forms part of a team response where we offer safe, practical, emotional and educative support to people impacted by domestic and family violence.

About You:

The successful applicant will be experienced in running psycho-educational groups and knowledge of group facilitation processes.

Supplementing this, you will present with the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant human services field and demonstrated skills and experience working with children and families within a domestic violence context
  • Current Queensland Driver’s License – Presentation of a current license must be made before the appointment will be made.
  • Suitability Card for Child Related Employment (Blue Card)
  • Strong knowledge and experience in domestic and family violence, homelessness and child protection including the ability to analyse, evaluate and make professional decisions and recommendations.
  • Highly developed skills in assessing risk and providing safety interventions
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, that are consistent with a trauma informed, strengths based approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively within a team; willingness to participate in shared on call responsibilities, and ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate within a case management framework including the ability to manage and maintain client documentation and proficiency in the use of computer systems and software.
