About the role

The Uniting Church in Australia, Synod of Victoria and Tasmania, has a unique opportunity available for a motivated individual to join our team as the Case Worker - Child Safe / Redress.

This role will be based in the brand new, fully equipped facilities of our Melbourne CBD office.

In this newly re-designed role, you will play a key part in promoting a safe and compliant culture for the Uniting Church across Victoria and Tasmania. This role will be a key resource, supporting the church to respond directly to survivors of child abuse, and handling complaints.

The Case Worker - Child Safe / Redress has responsibility for the facilitation, planning and administration of the Church’s personal response to survivors of child abuse, including the management of reportable conduct matters and responding to historical complaints of child abuse.

As well as case management, this role will review policies and resources, advise the Ethical Standards Manager on areas for improvement, and ensure resources are up to date and readily accessible.

A major function of this role will be the delivery of timely, comprehensive reports aligned to legislated administrative requirements.

About you (Key Selection Criteria)

To secure this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, counselling, education, mediation or a related field
  • Proven experience with investigation processes and complaints handling
  • Certificate IV Workplace Assessment and Training would be an advantage
  • An understanding of the Uniting Church in Australia would be an advantage

SALARY RANGE

$86,062 - $104,888
