Do you have activist or industry experience to bring to this fight? Then this job might be for you.
The Transport Workers Union (TWU) represents 70,000 transport workers in Australia. Since 2018, the TWU has led the fight against some of the most new and severe forms of exploitation in the emerging transport sector of the so-called ‘gig economy’. The exploitative model of gig economy platforms like Uber, Amazon, EASI and other gig platforms, which disproportionately effects migrant and young transport workers, threatens to undermine working conditions in Australia as a whole if left unchallenged.
The TWU is seeking a junior campaigner to assist with its gig economy campaign. The role will be based from the TWU National Office and focus on campaigning in the ‘food delivery sector’ of the gig economy, where some of the most concerning effects on working conditions and safety are being experienced by over 100,000 working Australians today.
As a junior campaigner, you will be leading the fight for change by helping to unionise and empower food delivery workers in the gig economy and supporting union members to campaign for their interests.

The role is full-time (38 hours per week) and will be based in Sydney CBD. The position will be provides for a 6-month fixed term contract.
Remuneration is set at 60-70k per annum (commensurate with experience) + 15% super.
