The Wilderness Society Ltd Board seeks individuals with Legal expertise interested in joining the Board.
The Wilderness Society performs significant fundraising, campaigning and service support functions towards the achievement of its purpose, goals and objectives.
Our Board plays a crucial governance role for the organisation and comprises up to nine volunteer Directors, two of which may be Appointed Directors. We are currently seeking expressions of interest from those with legal skills to complement the existing skill set of the Board and support the valuable work of The Wilderness Society. As leaders in the organisation, Directors work directly with the Executive.

Expertise in organisational leadership and/or strategic direction will be well regarded. Membership of the AICD would be highly valued.
The Wilderness Society Ltd Directors serve a three-year term with eligibility for reappointment.
The Board currently meets most months by videoconference on the last Tuesday of the month (8 pm Eastern time) and face to face approximately once a year on a weekend (travel provided). The time commitment for our Directors is approximately 8-12 hours per month, including relevant meeting preparation.
There is no requirement to be located in any specific location as The Wilderness Society is a national organisation with Directors from across the country, however financial membership of the organisation is a requirement for all nominees to the Board.
