The Tenants Union works towards a society in which people in NSW can access safe, secure and affordable rental housing. We are a Community Legal Centre specialising in housing law and the peak organisation for tenants in NSW. We use a strategic mix of legal action, education, policy solutions and advocacy to make a difference in the lives of people who rent. In undertaking our work, we help people and communities understand their rights and take action to defend their rights and the rights of others.

This position will make a critical difference to housing outcomes for Aboriginal renters in NSW. Your work will involve giving advice, engaging in litigation, undertaking research, policy development and training to the four front line Aboriginal Tenant Advice and Advocacy Services in NSW.

You will concentrate on contract and land law. The practice also works in consumer, anti-discrimination, administrative, environmental, and credit and debt law.

You will be part of a supportive team of lawyers and a network of Aboriginal advocates.

Our office is located in Surry Hills, Sydney, close to Central train station. You will also be expected to travel within New South Wales from time to time.

Salary range $84,775 to $96,507 per annum pro rata, plus super, salary packaging and generous conditions. We are a flexible, family friendly workplace.
