The Salvation Army Youth Services offer an integrated suite of programs engaging with young people across Australia. Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities. Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.

The Tool of the Trade programs focus is on helping young people to develop their general life and social engagement skills. The program also has a strong focus on helping young people to develop their general life and social engagement skills. The program also provides young people at risk of becoming entrenched in the criminal justice system with the skills and opportunities required to desist from antisocial behaviour and crime.

We are currently seeking a values-driven Youth Support Case Manager to assist young people in the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula regions, who are deemed at risk of long term unemployment through early school leaving or disengagement from education, to reengage with the education and training sectors and/or assist them to secure traineeships, apprenticeships or paid employment.

You will successfully

  • Facilitate young people's hands-on experience of various trades through work experience and the "Trade Tasters" that are organised in partnership with local TAFE colleges
  • Motivate and inspire young people to engage in all aspects of the program
  • Provide a safe and supportive space for self-discovery, self-identity, exploration and pathway planning
  • Assist young people to increase their independence and employability and enhance their resilience and connectedness to community
  • Assist in collecting, organising and analysing feedback/data and completion of outcome reports to evaluate programs and explore improvement opportunities
  • Undertake case management of clients as per TSA policy and procedure and in line with the appropriate frameworks.
  • Monitor students and/or volunteers and client peer mentors who will play an active role in the service design and delivery of our programs
  • Maintain partnership arrangements and building service relations and interagency relationships

The Salvation Army is subject to public health orders. You may be required to provide evidence of vaccine status dependent on requirements.

You will have

  • Tertiary qualification in social welfare / sciences or related field, a degree qualification is preferred
  • Relevant experience in a social service environment
  • A Victoria Working with Children check is required prior to commencement
  • A current driver's license
  • A willingness to undergo a National Police check
