Moneycare is The Salvation Army's national financial counselling and financial capability program.  Moneycare has a focus on holistic, strengths-based services that are professional, caring, and missional. It is one of the largest programs in Australia with a long history of success. Our evidence-based outcomes measurement process shows that we have a real impact on the lives of the people who come to us seeking assistance. Evidence demonstrates in addition to alleviating financial hardship benefits of accessing Moneycare includes improved mental health/well-being, financial literacy & resilience.

We are seeking a values-driven and dedicated Moneycare Team Leader. As the ideal candidate, you will have Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling) along with a passion to lead an effective and high functioning team of paid workers to deliver financial support services to vulnerable and marginalised members of the community.

This is a fixed-term full-time position until June 2025 based in Collinswood.

You will successfully

  • Implement case management processes and tools to assist staff to provide consistent client-focused service
  • Effectively manage and monitor case loads to ensure effective service delivery and best outcomes for clients
  • Undertake financial counselling appointments where long periods of absence occur that are not covered by the Relief Financial Counsellor
  • Build productive relationships within the team and contribute to quality team performance and team wellbeing
  • Work in partnership with the Helpline Team Leader, Moneycare Clinical Supervisor and the Program Manager to meet contractual obligations and ensure sound practices and standards of service are delivered
  • Maintain accurate client records for all clients and meet all funding body or legislative requirements

The Salvation Army is subject to public health orders. You may be required to provide evidence of vaccine status dependent on requirements.

You will have

  • Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling). Must be a member of SAFCA - expected to work towards full membership
  • Leadership or Frontline Management Qualifications desirable
  • A valid Employee Working with Children Check
  • A drivers licence
  • A willingness to undergo a National Police Check
