This position is responsible for leading the provision of high quality service delivery within the Family Housing & Safety (FH&S) team by providing a range of service delivery responses to families and children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Job Description

The position sits within the Victoria Division Homelessness Stream and is under the regional remit of the Manager Homelessness - Victoria West. The position reports to the Manager Homelessness - Western Metro, which brings together a variety of homelessness response services operating in the western metro region of Melbourne, Victoria. This role includes:

  • Leading an effective and high functioning team of Transitional Support (DHHS activity code 20082) case managers to deliver high quality and specialist support services to families who have experienced homelessness.
  • Ensuring service delivery targets are achieved and funding body requirements are met.
  • Supporting the team to provide a range of service delivery to families who have experienced homelessness including the provision of information, assessment and safety planning, facilitated referral, interim responses, case management, and exit planning.
  • Providing specialist advice, secondary consultation and facilitated referrals across all programs within the Western Metro suite of services and programs.
  • Building and maintaining positive collaborative relationships within The Salvation Army (TSA) and partner organisations, and other agencies and service sectors.

Additional Job Description

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or related community service field.
  • Experience in case management with families who are homeless from an inclusive, strengths-based, client-centred approach
  • Experience in working with children and having a child-focus practice
  • Experienced with working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities
  • Experience in managing staff and providing supervision
  • A national police record check, international check in some circumstances
  • A current and valid Working with Children Check
  • A current and valid Victorian Drivers licence
