The Salvation Army is also one of the largest providers of family violence services in Australia. In the last 12 months, The Salvation Army Australia has supported over 7,000 women and children through its Family and Domestic Violence accommodation and support services.

THE ROLE

The National Family Violence Stream are currently seeking a values-driven State Manager with proven experience in the family violence sector and senior management experience in social and community services programs including the specialist family violence sector. Other key accountability areas include:

  • Operational management of all family violence programs, including oversight of all contracts for services, across the state
  • Building and maintaining relationships with State Government Departments, and their representatives, and equivalent community sector stakeholders
  • Ensure programs are appropriately administrated, adequately funded and resourced with staff who are appropriately qualified, and experienced, and demonstrate the competencies to deliver effective high-quality specialist family violence services
  • Being a leading presence in the sector within the respective State or Territory to promote and advocate the needs of people seeking services from the Salvation Army and best practice service delivery

This position is located in Perth, however regional and interstate travel will be required.

Requirements

  • Specialised knowledge, expertise and experiences of The Salvation Army and the interests of clients are represented in relevant state sector forums and influence state sector reform.
  • Active engagement and effective collaboration both within The Salvation Army and the broader sector

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a full-time position, 38 hours per week ongoing.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Social Stream, Level 8 plus an over-award component.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field and at least 10 years relevant experience, including managerial experience
  • Qualification in business or equivalent business management experience
  • Experience in active membership in community, government and peak bodies within the family violence sector
  • Senior management experience in social and community services programs including the specialist family violence sector
  • The ability to foster a culture of excellence in service delivery
  • Ability to drive strategy and governance within own area of responsibility
  • A current Western Australian Drivers Licence is essential
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
