Residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling and withdrawal management services are just some of the options available.

THE ROLE

The National AOD Stream are currently seeking a values-driven State Manager with proven experience in the AOD sector and senior management experience in social and community services programs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Operational management of all AOD programs within the region, including management of all contracts for services in AOD across the region
  • Building and maintaining relationships with Branch heads in state government departments and equivalent stakeholders
  • Ensuring programs are resourced with adequate funding, competent staff and are managed effectively
  • Being a leading presence in the sector within the state to promote and advocate the needs of people seeking services from the Salvation Army and best practice service delivery
  • Drive the implementation of the national AOD Model of Care at a State and Centre level.

This position is located in Redfern, however regional and interstate travel will be required. Location outside of Sydney (but within NSW) may be negotiated.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a full-time position, 38 hours per week ongoing.
Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Social Stream, Level 8 plus an over award component.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field and at least 10 years relevant experience, including managerial experience (post graduate qualifications highly desirable)
  • Degree qualification in business, social policy or related sectors or equivalent management experience
  • Experience in active membership in community or government bodies within the AOD sector
  • Senior management experience in social and community services programs including AOD
  • A current NSW/ACT Drivers Licence is essential
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
