The State Coordinator and State Manager will lead the delivery of three Social Mission Streams (Alcohol and Other Drugs, Family Violence and Homelessness) within South Australia.

The Salvation Army's Australia Social Mission department is committed to fulfilling our Mission, Vision and Values through provision of quality, non-discriminatory social services. Social Mission focuses on four main areas of need - Alcohol & Other Drugs, Homelessness, Family Violence and Youth.

The State Coordinator and State Manager will lead the delivery of three Social Mission Streams (Alcohol and Other Drugs, Family Violence and Homelessness) within South Australia.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a values-driven person, with proven senior management experience to lead a team of professionals to ensure the mission and values of The Salvation Army are reflected in the service delivery of all 3 streams. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all State social matters are coordinated and communicated to the Head of Social Mission via line manager and Divisional Leader South Australia
  • Provide a coordinated response and will be the conduit for government relations and building and maintaining relationships with relevant State government departments and equivalent stakeholders
  • Provide coordination of all social program's expressions across South Australia
  • Be a member of the Social Mission leadership team and will provide input, insight and context, in the development of strategic initiatives of the Department

This position is in Adelaide however will require regular travel throughout the state and when required interstate.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a full-time position, 38 hours per week ongoing.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Social stream, level 8 plus over award component.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field and at least 10 years relevant experience, including managerial experience
  • Experience in active membership in community or government bodies within relevant sectors
  • Senior management experience in social and community services programs
  • Ability to foster a culture of excellence in service delivery
  • A current Victorian Drivers Licence is essential (regular travel will be required)
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
